Prayer times in Mexico

Mexico has a small Muslim community estimated at approximately 0.05 percent of the population, numbering roughly 5,000 to 8,000 adherents. The community is composed of Levantine Arab descendants (predominantly Lebanese, with a notable concentration in Mexico City and Puebla; the larger Lebanese-Mexican community is mostly Christian, but the Muslim component is substantial), more recent Pakistani and Iranian residents, a notable native Mexican convert population including a distinctive community of indigenous Mayan converts in San Cristóbal de las Casas in Chiapas (the largest convert community in Latin America by some measures), and a Sufi-oriented community linked to the Murabitun World Movement. The Centro Educativo de la Comunidad Musulmana A.C. in Mexico City and the Centro Cultural Islámico de México are the principal national bodies. The Suraya Mosque in Mexico City and the small mosque in San Cristóbal de las Casas are among the most prominent.
